The Best Places to Visit in Singapore in June
June is warm and humid, as with all months in Singapore, so we suggest planning a mix of indoor and outdoor activities to ensure you don't overheat throughout the day. Even if you're outdoors all day, taking a break at a cafe or a restaurant with air-conditioning can help you regulate your temperature. Read on to find out more about what we suggest for visitors in June.
1. Visit the Island of Sentosa for its Beaches
Sentosa is an island off Singapore that is accessible from the mainland of Singapore, and has plenty to do for all ages. You can get around the island using a free bus service, or on a monorail. There is also the Sentosa Skyline Luge and Skyride, which is a ride as well as a way to get around!
The island is home to Universal Studios, but also the best beaches on the island. The pristine beaches there are all human-made, but definitely worth a visit if you are looking for a beach day in Singapore. We suggest Palawan. Siloso Beach is also popular with the locals.
If you are looking for a waterpark, Sentosa has Adventure Cove Waterpark Singapore, with enough rides for thrill seekers, but also ideal for those just looking to relax and play in the water to cool down.
For golfers, Sentosa Golf Club has two different 18-hole golf courses, making it a paradise to golf in for both beginners and professionals. You can rent your equipment there too, should you not have brought it with you.
2. Walk Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay

Part of Gardens by the Bay, Supertree Grove is home to 12 of the Gardens' iconic 18 Supertrees. These high structures look like trees from a different planet, and you can take a walk over their canopies for a view over Gardens by the Bay and surrounding areas like no other.
There is also a long skyway, and a light and sound show every night. For more information about Supertree Grove and Gardens by the Bay, check out our article about visiting Singapore in April.
The attraction is not too far from the iconic Merlion too, making it great to combine the two in one day. You can read more about visiting the Merlion in our article about visiting Singapore in January.
3. Cycle around Pulau Ubin and Travel Back in Time
Not far off the coast of Singapore is a separate island that is also part of Singapore. Pulau Ubin is like traveling back in time, making for a great day trip. You can get there by bumboat, which takes around 15 minutes from the Changi Point Ferry Terminal.
There, you will be able to explore one of the remaining traditional rural villages, or kampongs, that used to make up Singapore, and it's possible to rent bikes for a trip around. Other activities include kayaking, climbing up Jejawi Tower for a view over the island, and visiting historical homes.
Our team of experts at Asia Highlights can put together an itinerary with a tour guide and transportation if you'd like to visit Pulau Ubin without having to plan your own time and transport there. Get help planning your Pulau Ubin trip here.
4. Explore the Singapore Asian Civilisations Museum

Singapore's Asian Civilisations Museum is one of the best museums on Asian antiquities and decorative art, with permanent as well as temporary exhibits, and special talks run by experts in the field.
The first floor covers the story of Trade and the Maritime Silk Routes, taking you through a 9th century shipwreck collection, past Asian port cities, and globalization. The second level focuses on faith and beliefs throughout Asia, and the third level on materials and design, focusing on Asian craftsmanship.
You can walk through the exhibitions yourself, or there is the possibility to take a guided tour to ensure you see all the highlights that span across 5,000 years of Asian cultures through artifacts, documents, and art.
Other museums we highly recommend in Singapore include the National Museum (read more in our article about visiting Singapore in May) and the Peranakan Museum (read more about this in our piece about visiting Singapore in January).
Start of High Season: More Expensive and More Crowded
June marks the beginning of the high season in Singapore, with families traveling during the school holidays and Singapore being a popular summer destination. As a result, prices might be higher for transportation and accommodation, and we suggest planning and booking ahead.
What to Wear in June
June is hot in Singapore, and we suggest wearing summer clothing that is loose-fitting and made of natural, light-colored fabrics. We also recommend bringing supportive footwear to support your explorations, and bringing sunglasses, a hat, and plenty of sunscreen for those planning to be outdoors a lot.
An umbrella may be handy if you are planning on being outside on a sunny or rainy day, which is most days in June, but Singapore is never short of places to shelter and rain is typically short-lived.
